I graduated from the University of Sydney in 1994 with a Bachelor of Dental Surgery. I commenced working at Westmead Hospital in Sydney and spent 5 years in private practice in Lane Cove before moving to Cowra, where I owned and ran a practice for 14 years, working with my husband Juan Varela. While very sad to leave the Cowra Community and our friends there, we moved to Canberra in 2015 so our three children could progress through school to university without having to leave home. Since relocating to Canberra, I have been working at Maven Dental Kingston.

I have been a member of the Australian Dental Association (ADA) since 1994, and I am registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

My focus is on patient centred dentistry, with communication and empathy at the core of every patient's appointment. Prevention and education are key to maintaining good oral health and I incorporate this into all my patients' treatment plans with a goal of providing the best possible long term results.

I am experienced in working with and relating to patients of all ages, striving to ensure that patients are left feeling comfortable and confident that they understand their dental treatment and the options available to them. I focus on providing evidence based dental treament with reliable outcomes.

Like most people who are running after three children and a husband, I do not have much spare time but can be found gardening, or jogging with my dog when I get the chance.
